Our little dog Charlie is a very busy boy, he fits lots into his day.He helps with the washing,
Helps middle daughter with her Yr 12 history and biology homework,
He helps in the garden,
then of course needs a bath,
After tea he helps with the dishes,
and even fits in time to give a massage,
before going off to sleep.
Hi everybody, its been awhile, but unfortunately our main computer is still not fixed, wont even go there ,so having to fight for time on the computer with the daughters at the moment.Boy have we had some rain lately, which has been great, and we so need it but I am really looking forward to a nice sunny day for a change. I have been gardening and doing a bit of spring cleaning (even though its not spring)and only just a touch of sewing unfortunately. I have noticed a bit of teasing happening on a few blogs lately so thought I would join in and show Julia ,Marta and Fiona a little something. Sorry the pics not that great still having to use my phone.
The next photo is of a quilt I made in a class quite a few years ago and still need to get quilted. People are very clever to come up with the quick piecing methods for these quilts.
Lots of old fabrics used up in this quilt, its nice to have a close look at the quilt and remember where you have bought the fabrics from or what holiday you where on when they were purchased.
and finally another photo of our beautiful little niece
Arrrghhhh!!!! We have had some major computer problems here over the last week or so, and unfortunately they are still not fixed. So I have decided to do a post on our daughters computer, which doesnt have everything our main computer has, but I think I will manage. Besides computer problems we have all had rotten colds in our house, so not much at all has been achieved but laying around reading, watching movies and blowing our noses CONSTANTLY.
There are a couple of nice things that have happened over the last couple of weeks to brighten me up, such as getting these lovely cards from Chookyblue in the mail, thanks Donna they are great. If you would like to see more of these great cards, and maybe purchase them, click here.
Also a big thankyou to Paula, (you can visit her here) for giving me this award, that was very sweet of you. I also need to nominate 7 other people for this award and link to them, but I dont think I can narrow it down to only 7 so I am nominating everbody on my sidebar list, you are all an inspiration to me, thanks for sharing.
Unfortunately haven't felt like doing much stitching, a bit hard when your blowing your nose every second, so not much progress on my PIF gifts, but I promise you will have them by the time the six months is up ladies. Attempted to do a little on my stitchery blocks, this is all I have to show.
Sorry about the quality of the photos, I had to use my phone to take them to get them onto this computer, hope ours is fixed soon. Anyway sorry about the whining, it was only a cold after all. We are all feeling alot better now and looking forward to getting back into some more sewing and blogging.
Our girls were well and truly ready for the school holiday break. So far they have had a big clean out and change around in their rooms, which they like to do. Slept in, watched movies and thought about anything but study. They also have time to do some crafting or sewing.
The two older girls started these Christmas stockings (the pattern is out of an old Homespun magazine) last year, but didn't quite get them done, so they thought they would finish before starting something new. They are actually a cone shape and a lot bigger than we thought they would be,which they are pretty happy about as they think that means more presents to fill them! The stitcheries are very cute.
Need to get some lining material so will post a photo of them finished when that happens. They will only have this week off studying then next week they will be back into it. Middle daughter has also had her boyfriend to keep her occupied.AAAWWWW what a cute couple.
Getting a photo was nearly impossible.Happy stitching and have a great weekend.
Firstly thanks to everyone for your lovely comments about our daughter,we are very proud of her.

No netball last weekend so I was able to spend a bit of time in the garden on Saturday.Picked another big bunch of roses (had to take another photo they are so pretty) before cutting the bush back to this, ready for Spring.Sooo pretty to so ugly.
Hiding in amongst the rose bushes was this lovely lavender bush, that started to thrive once we got some rain.
Also had some time for stitching. Managed to finish my kangaroos and made a start on the stitchery blocks I traced the other day. I have decided to set myself a goal to stitch at least two a week.We will see how I go, remembering I have the elephant block to do now too, for Lynette's B.O.M. Here I am stitching.
Rosalie is having another giveaway, this time you have the chance to win one of her lovely Christmas redwork stitcheries , so pop over to her blog and leave a comment.
"Yay it's here"
Friday night was a very exciting night for our middle daughter. It was her Year 12 formal which was held at the Stamford Grand at Glenelg in Adelaide, a lovely venue on the beach. It was a bit unknown as to how long she was going to be there due to her illness, but no matter how long, it was all going to be worth it to her. She managed to stay until about 15 mins before the end, which is a pretty major feat for her and she had the best time. Here a some photos.I'm not sure why this one comes up blurry as it isn't on the original.
Who would have ever thought this unruly hair(when she was 18 months old),
could end up like this.
All the girls looked stunning! and the boys looked very handsome too of course.
After it was all over, home in her jammies.
"I think I might wear my bling to bed"
What a silly time to be doing a post!!!! Oh well if you cant sleep might as well be blogging I suppose.
First of all just thought I would let you know to go and visit over here as Sarah's having a giveaway to celebrate her 100th post.Congratulations Sarah!!!
I had a bit of progress on the sewing front over the last couple of days, as usual not as much as I hoped, but I got to do a bit.Actually it wasn't sewing as much as cutting and tracing.I decided to make a start on my Living the dream quilt by Leanne Beasley. Here is a photo of the fabrics I am using and the designs I have traced out.Now I have finally got something to hand stitch again ,as well as my Noahs Ark BOM.
The tracing of patterns is made alot easier due to this light box that my husband has made for me. Now I know you will have a bit of a laugh at how many globes are in here, and yes I do almost need to wear my sunglasses when I am tracing patterns, but it does a great job.I dont know if everyone remembers that television show, Home improvement with Tim Allen as the character, Tim the toolman Taylor. Well they could have created that character after my husband.I used to laugh at how similar they are as far as their sense of humour and their wanting to modify everything to get it to work as quick as possible to its maximum power. And guess what, hubbies name is Tim.
Off to work tomorrow(actually today), better get some more sleep.Three days until middle daughters prom, she is so excited.Hope your having a great week wherever you are in the world.
Gods blessings to you.
After a short conversation on the phone, thanks to Kris's (tag along teddies) very clever husband Scott, all my comments should now be easy to reply too (if you wish to, not expected though). If anyone else has the same problem or any other computer questions, Scott kindly now has set up a blog to help people, like me, who only know the basics to get by in the blogging world. You can visit him here, and his last post has the answer to my problem.
As I cant have a pictureless post and I still dont have any new sewing to share the picture above is of the very first quilt I made. Its looking a bit worse for wear as it is 23 years old ,and is still used all the time. The next few quilts are some our second daughter has made,a couple of them still need to be quilted.
This weekend has been a busy one.Yesterday our daughter played netball at Langhorne Creek, you may have heard of it ,it is well known for its wines. It was quite an early start as it is quite a drive to get there, but a very pretty one. They had a very good win. Then off to Marion shopping centre with the other daughter to buy the finishing touches for her formal outfit, which will be held next Friday night. Will certainly have some photos of that to share. Here's a photo of the chicks showing some sisterly love.
Have added a few more items that may interest to my sidebar and I add new photos every now and then to my albums. You can have a look at those by clicking on the photo under each heading.I have the next two days off so hoping to get some sewing done.Hope you have all had a great weekend.
Just wondering if anyone can help me, I have been trying to work out for ages how to change my comments I make to other bloggers not no reply. I have searched everywhere in the typepad programme and I just cant work it out, very frustrating, so if anyone has a clue would you mind emailing me ,I would very much appreciate it.
On a different note, over the weekend we had some of my husbands family for lunch. We had a great time with them, hubbies brother has two young boys. They are great kids ,the eldest on the right has the most beautiful blue eyes.
Also we have a couple of new additions to our family. This is Kev and Trev(hubby named them of course) our canaries. They sing beautifully.
And I had a trip to one of my favourite quilt shops and of course, bought a couple of things. The material is a bit more pink than the photo shows.
Finally, the only stitching I have been doing are my PIF gifts so cant show any pictures.
