This week has been a quiet, although still productive, one. I completed a pair of butterfly wings for my niece's 3rd birthday - she loves roaring around in her brother's shark and dinosaur costumes and I thought it was about time she had one of her own! I found a couple of photos online of children's butterfly costumes and decided to extend my crafty repertoire to painting, albeit mostly lines! I spent a while fiddling with and enlarging my design, then I traced it onto some sheer fabric and painted over that. After some fiddling with the arm and wrist straps (I'm still not sure if the wrist straps are a bit too long), the wings are finished and little P. loves them!
As you can understand, it is somewhat difficult to get a photo of a butterfly with her wings perfectly still! I hope you can get the idea of the finished product from the couple of photos I managed to snap.
I'll see if I can get some close up shots - which of course I forgot to do before I gifted them! - and a nice photo of P. wearing the wings for my next post.
I have also finally purchased the border fabrics for my Sew Laugh Love stitchery, and cant wait to finish the little appliques and borders so I can get it framed. I also had the luck of having the assistance of a dear friend in choosing the fabrics; she's actually the person who gave me the pattern and kit for my birthday, and an incredibly talented lady!
Until next time,

The fairy wings are gorgeous Hannah. You are so clever. Love the stitchery too.
